UWorld ACT Review is entirely online and self-paced, and the structure mirrors the SAT version closely. Most of my time was spent in the question bank, working through practice sets and then reviewing explanations in depth.

Plus, knowing how often I changed my answer to the right one versus the wrong one was a game-changer. I changed my answers 3 times; two of those attempts changed the wrong answer into the right one, and the third changed an incorrect answer to a different incorrect answer. This let me know that if I had an inkling I wasn’t quite right, I should try again—counterintuitive to the common advice of trusting your first instinct.

Video Lessons & Technology

At the time of writing, video lessons are not the primary component of UWorld ACT, especially in the QBank-focused package. It looks like they may be planned for a future course, however. Until then, the focus is less on pure study than on practice and repetition—and this can be especially effective for kinesthetic learners, who learn best by doing.

The real instructional depth comes from the step-by-step explanations, which may be just as effective as video lectures. I enjoyed that almost all of the explanations used visual elements—tables, diagrams, and color-coded steps—to walk through each question in a way I could not just see and understand, but remember.

From a technology standpoint, the platform feels very refined. Everything loads quickly, navigation is intuitive, and the experience feels consistent across devices. While the ACT course mirrors the SAT platform closely, it’s clearly adapted for ACT timing and question style.

Overall Value (Features vs. Investment)

The value of UWorld ACT comes from how much insight you get from each practice question. Rather than just drilling problems, you’re constantly learning about your habits—how fast you work, where you hesitate, and how your performance compares to others.

However, one of UWorld’s biggest selling points is the detailed analytics.

For example, one of the most useful aspects is seeing timing comparisons. Knowing whether I spent too long—or rushed—on a question helped me adjust pacing strategies across ACT sections. Combined with visual explanations and analytics, the platform feels optimized for real score improvement, not passive studying. 

And the step-by-step way things are broken down was so helpful—I’m literally not exaggerating when I say I wouldn’t be surprised if my test score increased at least a point after a single session. In particular, the descriptions of why answers were wrong (especially the ones that a high percentage of students pick!) helped me refine my problem-solving skills.

Every time I contacted the customer service team, I was pleasantly surprised. It took me a bit to find the right phone number, but I didn’t have any problems once I did. Further, I always received an email reply within 24 hours.
