Some of its self-paced study materials are online, but you also get several LSAT prep books thrown in if you prefer to learn from print materials. Students who enroll in a live course can choose to attend online or in person if they live near a Manhattan Prep location. You can check all of the upcoming course dates and locations on Manhattan Prep’s website.

Here’s a closer look at each LSAT prep course Manhattan Prep offers.

LSAT Interact

Manhattan Prep‘s LSAT Interact course is its self-paced option. It includes over 60 hours of on-demand video lessons that you can watch as many times as you’d like from any device. You also get access to all the previous LSATs that have been released and additional print books that teach strategies for common question types, review key concepts, and give you extra questions to practice on.

The LSAT Interact course costs $599, including the course books, but if you want a little extra assistance, you can add two hours of one-on-one tutoring for $300 more. It’s a great option for those who want a little personalized help but don’t have the money or the interest in taking a full classroom course.

After you sign up for the LSAT Interact course, you can begin reviewing the information right away. Your initial access period lasts six months, but if you need more time, you can extend this twice more by 90 days each time for an extra fee.

Complete Course

The Complete Course is Manhattan Prep’s live LSAT prep course. There are options to attend at several in-person locations around the country or live online if you don’t live near one of these. There are usually a few sessions going at a time, so you can choose the one that best accommodates your schedule. Most meet once per week over 10 weeks for three hours at a time, for a total of 30 hours of class time. Every course includes a free session that anyone can attend, which is a great option if you’re not sure if the course is right for you.

Manhattan Prep stands out for its instructors, all of whom have scored in the 99th percentile on a real LSAT, so they have a detailed understanding of the material. These instructors will assign homework and drills to help reinforce the material covered during the class sessions and they’re available to answer questions you have about the material if you get stuck.

Complete Course students also get access to the same online and print materials as students in the LSAT Interact course that they can use to supplement the classroom course and improve in the areas where they’re struggling.

CrunchTime Workshops

CrunchTime workshops are also taught by Manhattan Prep’s renowned instructors, but these are short sessions that focus on a single section of the exam. They’re designed to help refresh your memory on key concepts before the test date, and you can sign up for only the ones you need.

These workshops take place online, and just like the Complete Course, there are several dates and times, so it’s easy to find one that suits your schedule. Each workshop includes two instructors — one who goes over the key concepts and strategies for that particular section and another one who stands by to answer student questions about the material.

It’s a standalone product, so you can attend a CrunchTime workshop without ever taking a Manhattan Prep LSAT course, or you can combine it with any of the other options listed here.

Private Tutoring

Manhattan Prep offers flexible LSAT tutoring packages that let you start with as little as two hours. You can pay the $255 hourly rate if you only require assistance on a particular question type or two, but if you want more comprehensive assistance on the whole exam, you’ll save more money by investing in a tutoring package.

You can purchase 10-, 20- or 30-hour blocks of tutoring and these options include discounted rates. All of its packages include access to the online study materials and the course books. Your tutor will use these materials when assigning you work and practice problems to reinforce the material you cover in your sessions.

After you sign up for tutoring, Manhattan Prep will work to match you with an appropriate tutor based on questions you answer when you apply. It usually takes one to three business days to match students and instructors. Once this happens, your instructor will reach out within 48 hours and you can work together to figure out a schedule that suits you.

Manhattan Prep LSAT Books

Manhattan Prep sells three LSAT strategy guides, one for each section of the exam — Logical Reasoning, Reading Comprehension and Logic Games. Each book sells for roughly $45 and gives a detailed overview of that section of the exam, including key concepts and question types likely to appear and strategies for approaching different types of questions.

If you want to practice what you’re learning on some actual problems, you need Manhattan Prep’s 5lb. Book of LSAT Practice Drills. It contains over 1,000 pages of practice questions and drills so you can home in on those questions that are giving you trouble and work through as many of them as you need to until you start to get the hang of them.

You don’t need to buy any of these books if you’re enrolled in one of Manhattan Prep’s LSAT courses because they come included. But you can also purchase them separately if you aren’t interested in taking a full course.

How Does Manhattan Prep Compare?

Manhattan Prep has received overwhelmingly positive reviews from students, earning a 4.8 out of 5 on TrustPilot. There are a few things that set it apart from its competitors, including:

  • Instructor qualification: Manhattan Prep is one of the few LSAT prep courses that requires its instructors to have tested in the 99th percentile on a real LSAT. This should leave you in no doubt that you’re working with someone who thoroughly understands the material.
  • Small class sizes: Manhattan Prep limits the number of students in each class to ensure that each one is able to get the personalized assistance they need without having to fight for the instructor’s attention.
  • Flexible tutoring: While tutoring packages are common, it’s pretty rare to find LSAT prep companies that are willing to offer hourly tutoring or add tutoring to self-paced courses. It’s a great option to have if you only think you’ll need a little bit of help.

Manhattan Prep’s LSAT courses also have a few drawbacks to be aware of:

  • Expensive tutoring: You can definitely get more affordable one-on-one LSAT tutoring elsewhere, but you have to weigh this against the quality of the instruction you’re receiving. There’s no doubt it’s high with Manhattan Prep, so that could be worth paying extra for some.
  • No score improvement guarantee: Manhattan Prep is one of the few top LSAT prep course providers that don’t offer a score improvement guarantee. Many of its students score well the first time, so this isn’t a big concern, but if you don’t improve your score and you want to take Manhattan Prep’s course again, you’ll have to pay for it. You’ll still have the print materials you can review for free, though.

Bottom Line

No LSAT prep course is best for every student, but Manhattan Prep has a lot of things going for it, so it’s worth taking a closer look at its offerings to see if there’s something that suits you.
